Of all the crazy things you can read on-line...

Lately, I've had less and less activity at the office and that is really depressing. Although the 9 to 5 daily tasks aren't as many, I still have to punch in and read my emails.
So, unlike previous months, I've had some time to read the press, the funnies, catch up on Fashion Week, and so on. When almost all FW related topics were gone, I unfortunately had to turn to a much, much lighter reading - the tabloids.
Since I receive a series of articles in my FB newsfeed from a certain on-line tabloid - something local, all articles are in Romanian, and mostly on local so-called celebrities - I sometimes open the newsletter and read the headlines.
Today, one particular column caught my eye. It was meant to stand for "the confessions of a mistress", although I doubt that the columnist was actually "the other woman". The structure of the article was awful, it reminded me of the darker days of press in our country, when lower-class drama sold like crazy and I saw a lot of publications on the topic.
Anyway, the topic was day-time-drama-ish, the insight received from the writer - even worse. But what is even more sad is that all such articles receive FB or on-site comments. Some people take the time to read and identify themselves with the characters. Those opinionated comments are the worst.
Like - let's see the topic above - "the other woman". Needles to say all commenters were women and they were separated into two sides : the wife and the mistress. And you could easily see which was which. And they were very passionate about their comment, God forbid you should think otherwise.
All this while the much-anticipated new financial crisis is already here and we didn't even see it coming.
It's not our fault, the soap-operas were on at the time, and we were kinda' busy...

One can only dream...

It's almost fall... but all the store windows are already prepped for the upcoming season. The trends have been set well in advance and the designers have been busy stacking up on key pieces.
I've already been out window shopping and it's a wonderful world out there. The sweaters, the trench coats, the boots, they are all lovely and out of my price range... What to do?

I've been meaning to write posts with useful tricks for medium-class, working gals, like yours truly, who simply must have that Oscar de la Renta pencil skirt. But what do you do when you realize that even Zara and - yes - sometimes H&M are way over your season budget?

I'll just have to put on my last season boots and find out, because fall is my favorite season and it can't go by without leaving it's marks on my wardrobe.

Well, what do you know?

Jackpot! Twice in one day I get featured in treasuries on Etsy. Now that I've broken this barrier, let's get some orders in there, wright?
Please come check out this other Treasury, I can't make up my mind which one is prettier.
This is my other item that got featured today.

They love me...

Long time no feature :) But now, here I am, featured in a wonderful Treasury on Etsy. Together with getting on the frontpage of Crafty with my Folk necklace, things are looking up for my little shops.
So I'm sending a shoutout to all my readers - wherever they may be - to please check out this Treasury and share it with your friends. Let's get our products out there, where they can be seen by those "in need" of a lovely pair of earrings :))

What do you think of my featured earrings?

New girl in town

Well, I just can't cure my Etsy addiction. I keep telling myself there's no time for it right now, but then I go ahead and spend more endless hours pinning, tagging and faving. Before I know it, the weekend is over and I haven't accomplished half the things I planned to.
You can find many inspirational items on Etsy, whether you are planning your wedding, in need of a new wallet or a dress. I hope my items will someday be well-known within the Etsy community and beyond. Like this sketchy "self-portrait" (I wish) peter pan collar I just finished :

Kinda sad, isn't she?

Almost there...

I almost made a sale today... I was that close... But seen as though I'm not by far a full-time artisan, I didn't have the product in stock. And it takes me a few days to make the beaded necklace that everyone loves - since I'm only selling that particular model. Well, maybe next time. I'll start making a spare just in case...
